It is never easy to create a perfect wedding reception especially when there are so many things to decide on and endless opinions coming your way. Hundreds of hotels to choose from, thousands of gowns to try on and too many dinner and cocktail menus to match different tastes.
If you are still in the midst of deciding where to hold your wedding reception, try diverting your attention to this new idea introduced by Berjaya Hotels and Resorts.
Inspired by love, romance and celebration, the group will be introducing Malaysia’s first online public voting wedding contest, where one lucky couple will stand a chance to win a sponsored beach wedding reception of their dreams at Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort.
www.lovemedo.com.my is an online contest packed with love and excitement. With four phases of public voting, blogging, streaming, picture galleries and mini contests, logging on will become an everyday affair.
Four phases
Phase One (Oct 14 to Nov 27) marks the launch of the online contest, followed by user sign-up and registration. Berjaya Hotels and Resorts will select the top 50 couples to move on to Phase Two. This selection is based on the couples’ creativity in answering a series of questions related to their dream wedding and the love of their lives.
Phase Two (Nov 28 to Jan 15, 2009) involves all top 50 couples posting their videos on www.lovemedo.com.my to convince voters the reasons they deserve to win a fully sponsored designer beach wedding. Public voting begins at this phase, with the highest votes shortlisting the top seven couples.
In Phase Three (Jan 16 to Feb 25, 2009), the top seven couples will be treated to an actual bridal photoshoot with Edmund Tham (listed as one of the World’s Top 100 Wedding Photographer of Wedding Photojournalist Association 2007).
In addition to these exciting activities, the couples will also be previewing their wedding attires at this stage and be treated to a romantic poolside dinner. All seven couples are also required to update their personal blogs on www.lovemedo.com.my to share their experiences throughout the contest.
Another voting session would be conducted to eliminate four couples leaving the top three to continue on.
In Phase Four (Feb 26 to March 6, 2009), with three couples left in the running, power is given to the public to decide the most deserving couple to win a sponsored beach wedding of their dreams at the magical island of Langkawi.
The winning couple will be officially announced in a grand event. This winning couple will win an
all-expenses-paid and everything-planned beach wedding at the Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort which is scheduled on April 23, 2009 (date subject to change).
The couple will be able to share this memorable day with 60 of their closest friends and family members.
In addition to having a rewarding experience, the winning couple will also be part of the Berjaya Hotels and Resorts family where they will be named as "Berjaya Hotels and Resorts Brand Ambassadors". Being the brand ambassadors, they will be part of the Berjaya Hotels & Resorts family by participating in various promotional and corporate responsibility activities to build an affinity with the group’s target audience.
Mission of love
This is an ideal contest which requires almost effortless tasks so you don’t have to tire yourself in search of a wedding planner to achieve the perfect wedding.
Berjaya Hotels & Resorts got connected with the best people to share in this "mission of love". The beach wedding will be designed by Nupts & Such (wedding designers), candid moments captured by world-renowned photographer Edmund Tham, decor by Confetti, glitzy footwear by Charles & Keith and Pedro, the ultimate couple fragrance by Ralph Lauren Romance, splashes of colour by Shu Uemura and styling by Centro for L’Oréal Professionnel.
Embracing new media

Open to all
This contest is open to all Malaysian and Singaporean couples (or either one individual must be a Malaysian or Singaporean citizen). Couples participating must be registered beginning Jan 2007, or if they have yet to register their marriage and are selected as the winning couple, they must register before the Love Me ‘Do! wedding reception at Langkawi on April 23, 2009.
